CANARY ISLAND DATE PALMS- Phoenix canariensis

Large stately palm is slow growing, but will eventually reach it's 50' to 60' height.
Single, thick trunk is topped with a crown of 8' - 15' stiff fronds.
Trunk can reach a diameter of four feet and is covered with diamond-shaped pattern of texture from old frond scars.
Not invasive. Urban tolerant for streets and sidewalks or tight spaces.
Drought tolerant. Full sun. Moderate salt tolerance. Orange-yellow fruit attracts birds.
Small trees make excellent natural barrier when planted close together.
